Washington, DC — The Biden Administration notified Congress on Tuesday that it will move forward with $1 billion in new weapons deals for Israel, U.S. and congressional officials said, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal

The latest weapons package will include the potential transfer of $700 million in tank ammunition, $500 million in tactical vehicles and $60 million in mortar rounds, officials said.

The munitions are intended to replenish stocks used during Israel’s war against Hamas.

This comes less than a week after the White House paused the shipment of ammunition over the Israeli defense on the Hamas stronghold in Rafah. The paused shipment was to consist of precision 1,800 2,000-pound bombs and 1,700 500-pound bombs, a US official told the Associated Press last week.

The decision to proceed with the transfers underscored the Biden administration’s reluctance to deepen its rift with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the Rafah operation by restricting longer-term weapons deals with its closest Middle East ally.

The aid comes from the $95 Billion Dollar Israel and Ukraine aid bills that were passed and signed last month.

Biden most likely didn’t imagine the strong condemnation he got and is trying to cover it up. I hope the world isn’t fooled
