U.S. Ambassador To Israel Mike Huckabee Visits The Lubavitcher Rebbe’s Ohel In Queens, NY

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee who was nominated by President Donald J. Trump as the next United States Ambassador to Israel, with the confirmation hearing scheduled for later this week, visited on Sunday the Ohel of the Lubavitcher Rebbe in Queens, New York.

A long-time supporter of Israel and friend to the Jewish community, former Gov. Mike Huckabee together with his wife, Janet, prayed at the Rebbe’s Ohel.

The Huckabees were accompanied to the Ohel by Rabbi Dr. Joseph Frager, Executive Vice President of the Israel Heritage Foundation, with his wife Karen, Rabbi Duvid Katz, Executive Director of the Israel Heritage Foundation, along with his wife Chaya, and Rabbi Elie Weinstock, of New York Board of Rabbis, with his wife Dr. Naama.

A delegation of Chabad Rabbonim and Shluchim greeted them, including Rabbi Motti Seligson, spokesman for Chabad-Lubavitch international; Rabbi Sholom Duchman and Rabbi Zalman Duchman of Colel Chabad, Rabbi Yossi Vogel, of the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute.

After praying inside the Ohel, Huckabee visited the kevorim of the Rebbe’s wife, Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson z”l, and the Rebbe’s mother, Rebbetzin Chana Schneerson z”l. Huckabee also prayed at the kever of Ari Halberstam HY”D, a Crown Heights bochur killed Al Kiddush Hashem in the 1994 terror attack on the Brooklyn Bridge in NYC, whose 31st yahrzeit was on that very day.

Afterwards, Ambassador Huckabee was honored at a reception event, hosted by the Israel Heritage Foundation (IHF) at the UN Plaza Grill in Manhattan.
