Kosher Miami Beach Bagel Time Store Vandal Arrested

Miami Beach, FL – Just outside Miami Beach’s Bagel Time Cafe on 41st Street and Alton Road sits a massive Israeli flag in support of Eretz Yisroel amid its war with Hamas.

The popular kosher cafe and its flags have been vandalized three times since the war broke out. In one of the incidents, surveillance video caught an anti-Semitic woman ripping the flags, one Israeli-American flag and then a second American flag, and dragging them to the middle of the road where she stomps on them.

The vandal, who has since been identified, was arrested on a warrant in Pennsylvania and later turned herself in to the Miami Beach Police Department.

Court records detail how investigators with the Miami Beach Police Department used fingerprints lifted from one of the discarded flags, license plate readers, and surveillance video to identify the defendant and locate the vandal in Philadelphia. She faced two charges of petty theft, with the prosecutor saying in court that the charges are enhanced to felonies because of prejudice.

“We are making a statement here in Miami Beach that acts of any hate and anti-Semitism will be enforced and prosecuted to the full extent of the law,” said Miami Beach’s Frum Mayor Steven Meiner in December during another incident at Bagel Time.

While the flag might have been vandalized, the spirit hasn’t. After the vandals took down the flags, owner Josh Nodel added another and larger flags!

“This lady, she is the lowest. Intentionally, she knew what she was doing, she knew what she was coming to do, [and] she did it with hate.” Owner Josh Nodel said. “They’re not feeling safe anymore. This has happened for the third time, it’s not making any sense, people coming to Bagel Time to hurt us.”
