Fighting Jew Hatred On The Frontlines in American College Campuses

Brooklyn, NY – There are many prominent individuals who stand up and fight Jew-hatred and Anti-Semitism on college campuses, whether they are elected officials or activists. But not enough coverage is given to faculty members who are pro israel, as they are fighting Anti-Semitism from within the university walls. Ilya Bratman is one such person.

Immigrated from the Soviet Union to America at the young age of 15, Ilya served in the U.S. Military and was wounded in the Iraq war. He is for over 11 years a Hillel Director, now serving nine college campuses.

With more than 8 years of teaching English at Baruch and John Jay colleges to more than 1500 students, plus, co-founding an organization for faculty to fight Jew-hatred at CUNY, Ilya’s track record speaks for itself. His record of fighting for the Jewish people on campus within the belly of the beast is remarkable.

Especially after October 7, it’s important to have voices like Ilya. He has submitted dozens of reports about Anti-Semitism on campus to CUNY. In addition, Ilya has organized the largest campus Oct. 7 vigils across nine campuses, has led countless trips to Israel and brought many unaffiliated Jewish students closer to Judaism. Ilya has been an advocate for the safety of Jewish students in the face of relentless attacks on the PR front.

Which is why it is gross that a certain individual with an ax to grind has come out and maliciously attacked Ilya’s name on social media. People like Ilya should be celebrated, not defamed. The Jewish nation has enough enemies to fight and we shouldn’t devour people, especially those who have been on the forefront for a long time fighting for the rights of Jewish students

The real enemies are the Antisemites threatening Jewish students on campuses, and those who refuse to take action to stop it.
