On Thursday, Taanis Esther, a special tefillah asifa was held at the Kosel Hamaravi, Millions of Yidden from across Eretz Yisroel joined a special tefillah asifa held at the Kosel Hamaravi and from dozens of locations in Israel and around the world. With one voice, they united to say Shema Yisroel to demand the safe return of the Hostages and for the well-being of the IDF soldiers.
The asifa was attended by representatives of the families of the hostages and missing, along with many others who gathered as one – with one heart – to arouse heavenly mercy for the cancellation of the decrees hanging over Israel.
At the peak of the asifa, everyone, as one person with one heart, recited Tehillim led by Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, Rov of the Kosel, followed by the pasuk of Shema Yisrael. A special tefillah for the safe return of the hostages was also said.
Noah Hertz, a pilot who was captured by Syria in the Yom Kippur War, said a teffilah for the well-being of the IDF soldiers. Yigal Serousi, the father of Almog, a hostage in Gaza, offered a tefillah for the return of the hostages.
The asifa was broadcast live to millions of Yidden in Eretz Yisroel and around the world, in collaboration with Jewish communities worldwide, who participated in the recitation of the Shema Yisroel simultaneously with the tefillah at the Kosel.
