Unity, Security, and Prosperity: A Vision for Far Rockaway Assembly District 23 and Beyond

As I step forward to run for the New York State Assembly, I am compelled to address an issue close to my heart and central to the well-being of our district’s residents, especially the Jewish community in Far Rockaway.

The alarming rise in crime and targeted acts of hatred against our Jewish friends, both locally and internationally, has reached a critical point. It is a clarion call for us to unite, to protect our shared values, and to stand firm in the face of adversity.

As a Veteran, I have witnessed the profound strength that comes from different groups coming together to fight a common enemy. As a Colonel in the U.S. Army, who has led units from Queens, NY in both Iraq and Afghanistan, Unity is a principle that guides my approach to leadership and one that I believe is crucial for the future of our community.

The Jewish community, with its deep roots and vibrant Yeshivas in Far Rockaway, embodies resilience and commitment to family, education, faith, and the betterment of society. The New York Yeshivas, which are currently facing unprecedented attacks from radical far-left elements, are not just educational establishments and institutions; they represent hope for our community’s moral and cultural heritage.

I stand unequivocally with our Jewish neighbors and their right to educate their children in Yeshivas in accordance with their faith and traditions. The attempts by some to undermine these fundamental rights under the guise of ‘reform’ are both misguided and destructive. As your representative, I will fight to ensure that our Yeshivas continue to thrive, free from external interference that threatens their mission and existence.

Public Safety – Law and Order are the cornerstones of a prosperous and peaceful community. The recent spate of crimes, particularly those hate crimes targeted against visibly Jewish individuals and institutions, is unacceptable. It undermines the fabric of our society and the principles of tolerance, respect, and justice that we hold dear. As your Assemblyman, I will work tirelessly to bolster our law enforcement agencies, by supporting the police and ensuring they have the resources and community support needed to protect all citizens and prevent future atrocities.

Furthermore, my total support for Israel remains unwavering. In a time when the Jewish state faces constant threats and challenges, solidarity from abroad is more critical than ever. The bond between the United States and Israel is not just strategic; it is founded on shared values of democracy, freedom, and the relentless pursuit of peace. Strengthening this bond will be a priority as your Assemblyman, as it is vital for global stability and the security of the Jewish people.

To the vibrant and growing Far Rockaway Jewish Community in Assembly District 23, I extend an invitation to join me in forging a future marked by security, prosperity, and unity. Your support in the upcoming election is not just a vote for me, Tom Sullivan, but a vote for a leader who is deeply committed to bringing our communities together, defending our shared values, and advocating for the needs and rights of every resident.
