On Wednesday, a heavy barrage of rockets was fired from Lebanon at northern Israel, including Har Meron, Safsufa, Bar Yochai, and Jish.

Some of the rockets were intercepted, and others fell on Har Meron, near the homes of residents who were not evacuated. Magen David Adom reported that they “have not received reports of injuries.”

According to reports, the rockets were fired towards an Israeli Air Force base in Meron, and anti-tank missiles were fired at Kiryat Shmona.

The barrage comes after the IDF eliminated Hezbollah commander Hussain Ibrahim Mekky, Yesmach Shemo, who was responsible for various terrorist acts against the Yidden of Eretz Yisroel. According to the IDF, he was a senior field commander in the Hezbollah terrorist organization on the southern front. And previously served as the commander of Hezbollah’s forces in the coastal region.

This attack comes a week after the IDF announced there would be no Lag B’Omer celebrations at the kever of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai on Har Meron. Police will block entry to non-residents between May 24th and 27th.
