Rockland County, NY: Local mosdos listened intently during a conference call made by the Republican Leadership delineating the critical importance of voting for incumbent New York State Senator Weber to accomplish the necessary support needed to save Yeshiva Education from the Substantial Equivalency edict.
The Republican Senate Minority Leader Rob Ortt clarified that securing Yeshiva education by voting down Substantial Equivalency while securing the funding critical for the institution to continue is an endeavor that the whole Republican Caucus will support when it comes to any bill supporting education.
“This is a critical moment for yeshivah education, the Orthodox community, and the Jewish community,” Ortt said. “I would tell you on a number of issues, many democratic colleagues across the aisle have been consistently on the wrong side when it comes to Yeshiva Education, support for Israel, antisemitism, and the border. If you think those folks are going to turn around and say we should support Yeshiva education in schools, they’re not. Their only religion is the religion of government. They don’t believe in any religion or that it should have any say in anything.”
The meeting concluded with Ortt reiterating his complete and unequivocal support of his entire conference for Senator Bill Weber’s campaign and the Yeshiva system.
