New York City Mayor Eric Adam’s Jewish Advisory Council, chaired by Yoily Eisdorfer, Menashe Shapiro, Fred Kreizman and Moshe Davis held its annual community Purim safety event allowing Askunim, community leaders, frum elected officials, activists and Shomrim representatives from New York City’s many frum communities to meet and collaborate with the NYPD.

The meeting, which took place in Flatbush on Monday, came at a time when the city’s Jewish community, as well as the global Jewish community, is grappling with the sharp rise in anti-Semitic attacks and hate crimes. Including an anti-Semitic protest which occurred last week in Flatbush.

Local law enforcement officials and other city officials joined the event. Representing the NYPD were Frum Deputy Chief Richie Taylor, Brooklyn South Chief Charles McEvoy and Frum Community Affairs Lieutenant Yitzy Jablonsky, as well as the Commanding Officers from the local Precincts covering Brooklyn’s frum neighborhoods.

Discussions included Purim safety, the increase in crime and last week’s anti-Semitic protest in Flatbush.
