Queens, NY – Former four-term U.S. Congressman and 2022 New York Gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin has officially endorsed Tom Sullivan for the New York State Assembly, District 23. Citing Sullivan’s leadership and service, Zeldin expressed strong support for Sullivan’s campaign amid challenging times for the state.

“More than ever, New York needs a leader like Colonel Tom Sullivan to stand up for common sense in the State Assembly. Countless New Yorkers are fleeing this state because of rising crime and declining quality of life. One-party rule in Albany has been an unmitigated disaster for the law-abiding citizens of New York. I am proud to endorse fellow Army Veteran Tom Sullivan for New York State Assembly District 23,” said Zeldin.

Lee Zeldin served New York’s 1st Congressional District from 2015 to 2023 and represented New York’s 3rd District in the State Senate from 2011 to 2014. A Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserve. Zeldin was the Republican nominee for Governor in 2022, securing nearly 47% of the vote—the highest percentage for a Republican Gubernatorial nominee since 2002 and the most votes for any Republican statewide since 1970.

Responding to the endorsement, Sullivan remarked, “It is an honor to receive backing from Lee Zeldin. We share a unified vision for New York—a State where families feel safe and businesses flourish. Together, we can restore balance and prosperity to our great state.”

If elected, Tom Sullivan said he looks forward to finding Common Sense solutions with legislators across the aisle, especially policies that support Law Enforcement, provide for the safety of our Citizens and are fiscally responsible. Rather than bend the knee to political agendas, he will prioritize the needs and well-being of his constituents, regardless of political affiliation.

Last week, Sullivan was endorsed by New York City Democratic Councilman and Co-Chair of the Common Sense Caucus Robert Holden, who crossed party lines to endorse him.

Within the Jewish community, candidate Tom Sullivan is endorsed by former Assemblyman Dov Hikind, Councilwoman Inna Vernikov and Flatbush community activist Izzy Weiss, among others.

Thomas (Tom) Sullivan is a Husband, Father, Retired Army Colonel, financial professional, small business owner, and the Republican-Conservative-Common Sense Candidate for New York State Assembly District 23, covering Ozone Park, Lindenwood, Howard Beach, Broad Channel, and the Rockaway Peninsula (Far Rockaway).
