Lakewood, NJ – Leading Republican candidate for New Jersey Governor, Jack Ciattarelli, last week spent a day with the Lakewood Jewish Community ahead of Pesach.
Ciattarelli, a frequent visitor to Lakewood and a friend and ally to the Jewish community, whose policies strongly align with the needs of the Frum Kehila, received a hero’s welcome from local residents.
Flanked by supporters, the Gubernatorial candidate toured many new additions to Lakewood, including the soon to be opening 500 BOTA (Boulevard of the Americas) luxury modern office building, and the new corporate headquarters of First Commerce Bank.
Ciattarelli, who on a recent visit to the growing Jewish community of Linden, NJ, said that one of his top priorities if elected, is to “Make New Jersey Business Friendly again,” was very impressed by these two projects—which are expected to bring hundreds of new jobs and financial growth to Lakewood and the surrounding townships.
Ciattarelli also visited the Lakewood Matza Bakery, the Tomchei Shabbos Pesach Distribution at the Blue Claws Parking lot, Judaica Square, Gourmet Glatt, the Ice Cream House, Liberty Commons Shopping Center, among other locations throughout Lakewood.
He also spoke with many involved with communal matters, including meeting with Shomrim leadership, community activists, and social media influencers, providing an opportunity to address local concerns.
Before leaving from Lakewood, Ciattarelli sat down with Lakewood childcare providers and discussed in-depth challenges that local families face.
Overall, the Republican Gubernatorial candidate was warmly welcomed all over town, with residents expressing deep concerns with the direction New Jersey is heading, under the current Democratic state leadership, specifically regarding a lack of support for Yeshivas and school choice, soft-on-crime policies and high taxes that is being implemented in Trenton.
During his visit, Gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli released a statement to the media:
- “In Lakewood this afternoon visiting with business owners, community leaders, and residents across town talking about our fight to cut taxes, invest in our road infrastructure, support school choice, and FLIP NJ RED!”
After the campaign stop, a local resident told FrumNews
- “When most politicians previously visited Lakewood they have their hand held—tip toeing around town, with their “handler” making sure they don’t say anything to progressive sounding. Jack Ciattarelli is different, he’s a man of the people, he knows Lakewood, he understands the Jewish community, but most importantly Jack genuinely shares our concerns. If elected, Jack would make a great Governor and turn Lakewood around, for the better.”
