The Rothenberg Law Firm Continues to Step Up For Public Safety
Lakewood, NJ – The Rothenberg Law Firm, an industry leader in personal injury litigation for decades, has dealt with many cases of pedestrians who were struck by vehicles at night and suffered serious injuries as a result.
With a goal of preventing such tragedies and injuries from occurring in the future, The Rothenberg Law Firm launched a major initiative over a decade ago to equip every resident of the greater Lakewood community with potentially lifesaving reflector belts. These reflector belts help make sure pedestrians are clearly visible at night and help them stay safe in all conditions.
Working together with numerous law enforcement and public safety agencies, they launched the firm’s Pedestrian Safety-Reflector Initiative, to distribute free high-quality and long-lasting reflective belts. These belts have been proven to be effective in increasing nighttime pedestrian visibility, which can mean the difference between life and death, helping protect residents from serious injuries that could change their lives forever. Simultaneously, the firm embarked on an educational campaign to spread awareness to the public about the importance of wearing reflective gear during nighttime hours, sharing this message in presentations to schools, youth groups, and other forums.
In a joint endeavor, thousands of reflectors are provided by the law firm to law enforcement agencies in Monmouth and Ocean County to distribute free of charge to their residents and are also given out in the streets by Lakewood Shomrim and in the offices of the Rothenberg Law Firm and Lakewood Shomrim.
Mr. Allen L. Rothenberg, Esq., Beth Rothenberg Halperin Esquire, and other members of the firm were on hand at Lakewood’s Annual Night Out Against Crime at The Blue Claws to distribute free reflective belts to thousands of men, women, and children. The Rothenberg Law Firm also helped engage residents in a conversation about the importance of regularly wearing these belts. At the event, the Rothenberg Law Firm presented an award to the Lakewood Police Department in recognition of its professionalism and expertise in preventing injuries and dealing with the aftermath of serious accidents that, sadly, have left people hurt and injured.
The award was accepted by Captain Leroy Marshall of the Lakewood Police Department, with the participation of Mayor Raymond Coles and other members of the Lakewood Township Committee, Town Manager Pat Donnoley, and representatives of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Ocean County Sheriff’s Office, and state officials including Assemblyman Avi Schnall.
The Lakewood Police Department’s Annual Night Out Against Crime is a highly-anticipated free event where law enforcement, safety services, and volunteer organizations come together to meet residents, share safety messages, and enjoy an evening of fun, food, and entertainment. Residents can interact with local, state, and national law enforcement officers, community volunteers, and other organizations. This year’s event was enjoyed by over 5,000 attendees.
Throughout the evening, members of the firm worked with officials from various agencies including the Lakewood Police, the Lakewood Fire Department, Hatzolah of Central Jersey, Lakewood Shomrim, Chaverim, Lakewood EMS, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office, to discuss more ways to make reflectors available, and to hear their input on potential new safety initiatives.
Mayor Coles stated, “I want to thank the Rothenberg Law Firm for encouraging and promoting safety in Lakewood and beyond for so many years. I regularly see how their initiative is making a real difference and that more and more people are making good use of the reflector belts.”
A representative of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office echoed this sentiment by saying, “We recognize and thank the Rothenberg Law Firm for the incredible work they do to benefit the public and prevent serious injuries and even deaths. We really appreciate having partners who are so dedicated to the safety of the public.”
A member of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office added, “Our number one priority is keeping every one of our constituents safe. That’s why we couldn’t thank the Rothenberg Law Firm more for all they do, with the same goal in mind. In addition to their reflector initiative, the education and information they provide on this topic is invaluable.”
In an exciting development, the firm has announced a new means of distributing free reflective belts. An attractive display box has been set up in the lobby of Lakewood’s Town Hall building in Downtown Lakewood, where belts will be available for residents to take at their convenience.
The Rothenberg Law Firm knows Lakewood, understands the community, and has once again shown that its main concern is the welfare and safety of every resident of Lakewood.
