Lakewood, NJ – When unexpected special needs school closures left parents scrambling for childcare, The Special Children’s Center once again proved to be a pillar of support for the community. With SCHI closed and all local schools open parents faced a dilemma—how to go to work while ensuring their children were cared for.

With just one phone call to local high school principals, an incredible response was set into motion. Understanding the urgency, high school principals from across Lakewood immediately answered the call, arriving at The Special Children’s Center full of energy, warmth, and excitement, ready to give the children the best day possible.

Their enthusiasm filled the rooms, turning what could have been a stressful day into one of joy, laughter, and connection. Their dedication reflects the values of our community—where responsibility, kindness, and selflessness shine through when it matters most.

And as the cherry on top, Siman tov bus company stepped up to with transportation, ensuring that children could get home safely, and that parents didn’t have to shlep out at the end of the day.

Today was yet another reminder of the power of community, unity, and a shared commitment to our children.
