The Israeli Knesset passed a bill by a vote of 71-10 that would close the Al Jazeera office in Eretz Yisroel.

The law states that if the prime minister is convinced that a foreign news station is harming Israel, the Communications Minister after receiving at least one security opinion and with the approval of the government or the cabinet, can take action against a foreign channel that acts against the country.

“There will be no freedom of speech for the Hamas trumpets in Eretz Yisroel. Al Jazeera will be closed in the coming days,” said Communications Minister Shlomo Karai, who spearheaded the bill.

The bill came to a head as it was revealed that a number of the network’s “journalists” were Hamas terrorists. The bill passed in its second and third readings today.

Over the border in Syria, a senior IRGC commander and his deputy were killed in an alleged Israeli airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria, according to media reports.

According to reports, the strikes targeted a secret meeting between Iranian intelligence officials and Palestinian terrorists. Among them were leaders of the Islamic Jihad.

The attack was made with two F-35 fighter jets at approximately 5:00 PM local time. The Israeli government or IDF didn’t confirm or deny the attack.

Late Monday, in a seeming retaliation, to the strike on the Iranian consulate, a missile was fired at Eretz Yisroel from Syria.

The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said that, following the alerts in the north, a suspicious aerial target had been detected that made its way towards Israeli territory from the direction of Syria and was shot down in Syrian territory.

In Lebanon, on Monday, a number of rocket launches were identified crossing from Lebanon towards the areas of Har Dov and Manara in northern Israel. A IDF soldier was lightly injured from shrapnel. The IDF struck the launch sites.

A short while ago, IDF fighter aircraft struck a Hezbollah military compound in the area of Hanine in southern Lebanon. The IDF also struck a weapons storage facility and other terror targets in the areas of Jabal Hmaid and Ayta Ash Shab in southern Lebanon.

Back in Eretz Yisroel, the sister of Ismail Haniyeh Ym”s, the leader of Hamas, was arrested on terror charges in Tel Sheva (near Be’er Sheva).

The Shin Bet said that she engaged in contact with Hamas terrorists and encouraged and facilitated terrorist activities within Eretz Yisroel, among other accusations.
