New York Governor Kathy Hochul wants to ban masks and face coverings on the city Subways, after a viral vile anti-Semitic incident in which a man yelled “Zionists” to identify themselves on a crowded subway car at the 14th Street-Union Square station on Monday.
Hochul didn’t elaborate on the details for reporters but said the plan would contain “common-sense exemptions” for health, cultural or religious reasons.
The Governor is acting as if she is ‘brainstorming’ this action. However, in the recent legislative cycle, (which finished last week), two bills by both Democrats and Republicans, tried to make wearing masks during protests illegal amid the daily Pro-Hamas violent protests on the streets of New York City, including illegal encampments at Columbia University, among other New York colleges and universities.
One bill was introduced by Democratic Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz, who proudly serves the Frum kehilla of Riverdale, introduced the new bill to curb identity concealment in lawful assemblies, unlawful assemblies, or riots.
Republican Assemblyman Michael Reilly of Southern Staten Island, who formerly served as a Lieutenant with the New York City Police Department, co-authored a stronger bill with State Senator Steven Rhoades, that makes wearing “deceptive wearing of a mask” a Class B misdemeanor.
Yet again, if Governor Hochul and the Democrats in leadership wanted to curb the threats by the pro-Hamas mobs, they would take up the bills back when they were introduced as the mobs violently took over New York universities and public squares.
Senator Steven Rhoades said, “Kathy Hochul, my bill S9194/A10043 reinstates pre-COVID mask laws & was ignored by the Democratic majorities. If you truly want to hold those who “hide behind masks to commit crimes accountable,” call the Legislature back to Albany immediately to pass this bill. It’s your move.”
FrumNews.com wants to highlight that law-abiding citizens in the once great state of New York have been saying for two years now that only criminals use masks. If you see someone wearing a mask, you cross the street, this should have been banned long ago.
But Hochul is worried that election season is around the corner, as Democrats fear a growing red-wave with GOP candidates getting elected, Hochul starts ‘speaking about’ banning masks.
