Toms River, NJ – Hatzolah of Central Jersey celebrated the dedication of a brand-new, fully-equipped ambulance at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sunday morning. The ambulance, donated by Fischer Roofing and other members of K’hal Zichron Yechezkel of Toms River, was dedicated l’iluy nishmas R’ Menachem Wiederman z”l, a beloved mispalel and longtime Flatbush Hatzolah service unit member.

Speaking at the dedication, Rabbi Moshe Rotberg, Rav of K’hal Zichron Yechezkel, highlighted the extraordinary effort of his kehilla, which raised over $800,000 for Hatzolah, a portion of which was used for this new ambulance.

“Menachem z”l spent decades dedicating his time to Hatzolah. It was his life, it was his pride, it was everything he stood for,” Rabbi Rotberg reflected. “Now, with this ambulance dedication, he’s still giving, he’s still helping, he’s still saving neshamos.”

Hatzolah CEO Meilech Esterzohn expressed his gratitude to the kehilla and underscored the importance of this monumental contribution.

“Every second counts in emergency response, and this ambulance will directly translate into lives saved. To have a vehicle dedicated l’iluy nishmas someone who gave so much to Hatzolah is incredibly meaningful,” said Esterzohn. “Menachem’s legacy will continue with every call this ambulance responds to.”

Hatzolah Executive Director Motti Twerski praised the remarkable generosity of K’hal Zichron Yechezkel.

“This ambulance is a testament to what can be accomplished when a kehilla comes together with a shared mission of saving lives. It’s a zechus for all who contributed, and it’s an everlasting tribute to R’ Menachem z”l, whose neshama should have an aliyah with each mitzvah performed with this vehicle.”

Hatzolah of Central Jersey continues to expand its fleet and capabilities to meet the growing needs of the communities it serves. This new ambulance, which will go into service in the coming months, will further bolster Hatzolah’s emergency response efforts, ensuring that those in need receive the highest level of care, delivered with Hatzolah’s trademark speed and compassion.
