Fallsburg, NY — Just in time for the summer, with tens of thousands of Frum Yidden going to the Catskills Mountains in Sullivan County, Catskills Hatzallah unveiled two new state-of-the-art ambulances, enhancing coverage for the summer and year-round residents alike.
The ambulances will be stationed in the newly constructed Hatzalah garage in the growing frum community of Bloomingburg, NY (exit 116), providing medical assistance along the 17 state highway used to travel to and from the Catskills.
The ambulances were funded thanks to the efforts of NYS Assemblymember Aileen M. Gunther, who represents the Frum Kehillos in Orange and Sullivan Counties. Assemblywoman Gunther was honored in recognition of her work to secure the funding and her efforts on behalf of the community.
Catskills Hatzalah marked the arrival of the new ambulances with a lavish ribbon-cutting ceremony held at its Fallsburg headquarters.
Catskills Hatzalah Coordinator Yidel Feig, and Rabbi Yechiel Kalish, director of Chevra Hatzalah, addressed the crowd. Law enforcement, elected officials and directors of hospitals and medical facilities in Upstate New York also joined this event.
Frum Assemblymember Simcha Eichenstein, who represents the Kehillos of Boro Park and Midwood in Brooklyn—which has many residents flocking to the Catskills every summer—addressed the crowd at the ceremony. He thanked Assemblywoman Gunther for her work in securing funding and helping the Frum community.
