The NYPD 63rd Precinct took the driver into custody.

The FBI and the joint terrorism task force were called in to assist the NYPD hate crime detectives in this investigation. Police are currently treating the attack as a hate crime.

NYC Mayor Eric Adams said that the suspect “essentially mounted the sidewalk” and “used antisemitic slurs in the process.”
