BREAKING: Armed Suspect Taken Into Custody by NYPD with Help of Shomrim After Vicious Robbery in Boro Park

Borough Park, Brooklyn – On Tuesday night, an armed suspect was taken into custody by the NYPD with the help of Shomrim after violently attacking a delivery driver and stealing his moped.

A Shomrim volunteer on night patrol witnessed the brutal scene unfold at the intersection of 12th Avenue and 43rd Street in Boro Park. The suspect viciously cold-heartedly yanked the delivery driver off his moped while he was in the middle of delivering orders. The driver was thrown to the ground and left injured as the suspect fled on the stolen moped.

The Shomrim volunteer immediately radioed for backup. Additional volunteers were dispatched to follow the suspect while others stayed with the victim and alerted NYPD and EMS. Shomrim provided the NYPD with real-time updates while following the suspect.

Realizing he was being followed, the suspect suddenly dropped a gun while abandoning the moped, attempting to escape on foot. A Shomrim volunteer secured the firearm while continuing to monitor the situation. Shortly after, NYPD officers intercepted the suspect near 9th Avenue and 41st Street and took him into police custody.

The victim was treated for his injuries at the scene by NYC EMS and transported to the hospital. “If not for Shomrim, I would’ve been in much worse shape,” the delivery driver said. “They saved me.”

Thanks to the coordinated effort between the NYPD 66th Precinct and Shomrim, a dangerous and armed individual is now off the streets.
