WASHINGTON, D.C. – The wait is over for Washingtonians seeking an elevated kosher dining experience. Oro Nami, a contemporary kosher sushi restaurant, the first of its kind, is proud to announce its grand opening, bringing a one-of-a-kind culinary concept to the heart of the District.
More than just a restaurant, Oro Nami is a refined celebration of flavor, tradition, and innovation. Designed to be both stylish and serene, the space combines minimalist elegance with a curated menu that redefines what kosher sushi can be. From meticulously sourced fish to artistically plated rolls, Oro Nami is poised to become a destination for food lovers of all backgrounds—kosher and non-kosher alike.
“Opening this restaurant has been a dream of mine for years. There’s been a real demand in D.C. for upscale kosher dining that doesn’t compromise on creativity or ambiance,” said Harrison Furman, one of the managing partners. “With Oro Nami, we’re not just filling that gap—we’re raising the bar.”
Located at 2512 Pennsylvania Ave NW, in the heart of Washington, D.C. Oro Nami’s atmosphere is as thoughtfully crafted as its cuisine. “Guests can expect an elevated experience – colorful interiors and an immersive dining experience that blends traditional Japanese techniques with global kosher standards,” said Dino Lonzano, co-owner of the restaurant and CEO of Market Street Diamonds of Georgetown.
Rabbi Zvi Holland, Rabbinic Coordinator and Capitol K of the Rabbinical Council of Greater Washington, said, “All of the rabbis on the Vaad are excited about the opportunity to expand kosher options in DC.”

The grand opening launch event was attended by over 100 people, VIP’s American Friends of Lubavitch Executive Vice President Rabbi Levi Shemtov. President Trump’s Nominee to serve as Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism, Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun. Henry Public Relations CEO and Newsmax Contributor Bryan Leib. RJC’s National Political Director Sam Markstein. Israeli’s Channel 14 Washington Correspondent Libby Alon. Ami Magazine foreign correspondent Shloime Zionce.
Rabbi Shemtov together with the co-owners affixed and placed the Mezuzah on the entrance door. Afterwards Rabbi Shemtov’s son gave those in attendance the opportunity to don Tefillin.
Oro Nami opened to the public on June 25, 2025, with much excitement from D.C. residents, visitors and those that work in the nations capital.
