Report: Non-Stop Flights Between U.S. – Hungary Can Bolster Tourism, Trade and Alliance

Washington D.C. – While some European countries have non-stop flights to the United States, in 2025 that may increase with direct flights from the US to Budapest, Hungary.
Former CPAC-Endorsed Republican Congressional Candidate Bryan E. Leib, who is considered to be on President Trump’s shortlist for U.S. Ambassador to Hungary, has been a strong advocate for many years strengthening the U.S.-Hungary relationship and mutual alliance.
If called to serve by President-elect Donald J. Trump to be his envoy in Budapest, Leib vows one of his top priorities is to sit down with the leadership of all major U.S. airline carriers including United, Delta and American Airlines to make nonstop US – Hungary flights a reality.
U.S. airline carriers fly non-stop to scores of European cities on a daily and weekly basis but there are no such direct flights to/from Budapest, Hungary. I would like to see this change in 2025 to help increase trade and tourism!

But additional tourism, trade and economy for both countries isn’t the only thing that non-stop U.S. – Hungary flights will be beneficial.
Pilgrimage!
In the Orthodox Jewish community—this new development has been warmly received, since tens of thousands of American Jews travel to Hungary annually to pray at many different holy Jewish gravesites including the gravesite of Reb Shayale Kerestirer (REB SHAYE BEN REB MOSHE ZT”L) which is located in the village of Bodrogkeresztúr, Hungary. Approximately 223 km (139 mi) North/East of Budapest International Airport.
An Askun (community activist) from Borough Park, Brooklyn, that assists with the yearly travel arrangements to the Tzion for the Yuhrtzeit of Reb Shaya Ben Reb Moshe, told FrumNews that having direct flights from the east coast to Budapest would increase the amount of yearly visitors from the New York metropolitan area by nearly 50%. With each visitor boosting the local Hungarian villages economy.
With close ties, shared interests and values between Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and President-elect Trump, many feel that the U.S. – Hungary relationship can be great again and better than it’s ever been with direct non-stop flights being the first of many strong alliances connecting both countries.
Heading back to Miami after a very successful and busy visit to #Budapest.
I was thinking…if @USAmbHungary would like to actually be helpful in his role, he could put pressure on U.S. airline carriers to create direct flights from major U.S. cities to Budapest… pic.twitter.com/NAVSDQd77y
