Ready To Lead: Ismael Malave for City Comptroller

Manhattan, NY – With the buzz and excitement of the general election for the 2024 race which has just past, not a lot of focus is given to next year’s 2025 city elections. However, the sense of urgency is enormous. We in the Jewish community have to be very careful who we vote for in the upcoming municipal elections.

Enter Ismael Malave Jr.

Born in Puerto Rico, raised in the Bronx, Mr. Malave graduated from Lehman College, CUNY, with a BA in Economics and later earned an MBA from Baruch College, CUNY.

“Ish” is not only qualified, he is the ONLY qualified and common-sense candidate Running for city comptroller. With over 16 years of experience working for three state comptroller offices (Carl McCall, Alan Hevesi, and current NYS comptroller Tom DiNapoli) as well for two city comptroller offices (Bill Thompson, and John Liu). With 16 years of experience, Ish will not need a crash course to complete the job. He will be ready from day one.

Mr. Malave is a friend and ally of the Jewish community, who will proudly advocate for our Yeshiva education. In addition, Ish will use his platform to denounce all form of hate, including antisemitism and hate crimes.

As an unapologetic “Back The Blue” Candidate. Mr. Malave committed to Public Safety – Law & Order and will never back down from supporting the NYPD. We live in a city that too many politicians have abandoned, and outright, neglected, law-enforcement, Ismael stands out unapologetically in favor of the police.

The comptroller’s office audits city agencies
and manages a $240 billion pension fund. Mr. Malave will do everything in his power to crack down on corruption and mismanagement. He would also like to start a financial literacy program that will empower people to make better financial choices.

If elected, Ish would be the first Hispanic to win citywide office.

It’s very important that we elect the right people and not just anyone who smiles at us and isn’t qualified for the job.

• I am particularly focused on working with the community to protect Yeshiva schools, ensuring that they remain strong, independent institutions where children can learn in a way that aligns with their religious beliefs and cultural traditions. Education is the backbone of any community, and I will fight to ensure that Yeshivas are safeguarded from unnecessary interference.
• In addition, combating antisemitism is a priority for me. No one should ever have to live in fear because of their faith or background. I will work tirelessly to strengthen protections and initiatives aimed at eradicating hate and ensuring that the Jewish community—and all communities in New York—can thrive in peace and security.
• Lastly, the safety of your community is paramount. I will collaborate with law enforcement and community leaders to ensure that every neighborhood remains a safe place to live, worship, and raise families.
