The Assemblywoman also made sure that on October 7, the one year anniversary of the heinous terrorist attack on Israel, additional law enforcement would be present in the Queens Jewish communities.

South Queens, NYNew York State Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato over the past month of Tishrei spoke with leadership from the NYPD, including the local precincts, and coordinated additional patrols in the Jewish community during the recent holidays that just concluded.

Every year Pheffer Amato has ensured there is an increased police presence in the area during Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Sukkos. As the only Jewish elected official in South Queens, Pheffer Amato has been known to take the protection of her community seriously, and this year supported bringing the NYS Troopers to the area to provide additional security support. While some officers were in identifiable cars, most were in unmarked cars and strategically placed throughout the Jewish community.

The Assemblywoman also made sure that on October 7, the one year anniversary of the heinous terrorist attack on Israel, additional law enforcement would be present in the Far Rockaway and Bayswater Jewish communities. This included police officers being dispatched to shuls and yeshivas. While several protests and pro-Hamas rallies were expected throughout the country, no incident of antisemitism was reported to the NYPD on the Rockaway Peninsula.

“I want to thank our friends in the 100 and 101 Precincts, the incredible State Troopers, and the leadership in several law enforcement agencies who understood the importance of taking additional steps to safeguard our community. Those who wish to harm us will not win, and we will not be deterred from our faith and love of Israel,” said Assemblywoman Pheffer Amato.
