Hatzalah of Central Jersey announced that it received approval from the Lakewood Township Planning Board to start construction of its new, larger state-of-the-art headquarters along Cedar Bridge Avenue, near New Hampshire Avenue.
The new headquarters would allow Hatzalah to expand its existing services and consolidate its services under one roof in a central location.
The 1.57-acre property along Cedar Bridge Avenue was “sold to Hatzolah by Lakewood township for $1 in 2021. Hatzolah receives no tax revenue from the township or other public funds, although the township regularly donates hundreds of gallons of fuel to the emergency service.
Hatzalah stated, “We are excited to share with you that the Lakewood Township Planning Board has approved the site plan tonight that will allow HCJ to construct our new headquarters off of Cedar Bridge Avenue.
“We would like to thank all the parties involved for all their continued support. We look forward to the groundbreaking and construction of this beautiful building.”
Hatzalah is currently constructing a new garage at the intersection of Route 9 and Halsey Street in South Lakewood.
