As Donald J. Trump‘s criminal trial in New York City gets underway, the Judge decided not to delay it to accommodate Frum lawyers working on it.

Prosecutor Joshua Steinglass asked Judge Juan Merchan to confirm whether he intends for the court to go straight until 2 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday to accommodate Pesach.

Trump attorney Todd Blanche said Monday is fine for a lunch break but asked that the court not sit on Tuesday because one Frum attorney from Lakewood on the team is on holiday the entire day.

“I can appreciate it’s a holiday, the entire day for him. It’s not a court holiday,” Justice Merchan told Trump’s lawyers.

Another concern was whether any Frum jurors would be picked for the trial, given concerns about Pesach and long trial hours on Fridays. It does not appear that any Frum jurors were picked.

The defendant has a legal team that encompasses both Jews and gentiles. Its not rocket science to understand that he has other supposedly competent atnys on his team that are not Jews and can aid in his defense in the absence of Jewish atnys.
