In a statement, the airline said flights will make a on March 2 and 4 will stop in Munich, “To ensure all service providers are ready to support non-stop service to and from Newark. Our goal is to resume daily nonstop service to Tel Aviv beginning March 6.”
Other international airlines have resumed or plan on resuming flights, including Air Canada, British Airways, Etihad, Lufthansa, Ethiopia and Iberia, among others. The United flights will be the only direct flights between the US and Eretz Yisroel other than El Al Airlines, giving the route more competition and lower pricing.
According to the Israel Airports Authority, Delta will resume flights on May 1st, but the airline has not commented on the matter.
