Rockaway Nassau Safety Patrol (Shomrim) announced after many stressful and difficult months for many of you and a complex investigation, including multiple covert operations between the RNSP, NYPD and NCPD, under the guidance of our morah deasrah Rav Tzvi Flaum shlita, a notorious and dangerous career criminal, has been apprehended and is now in police custody.

Shomrim said that the suspect was responsible for hundreds of home burglaries throughout New York City and the 5 Towns, many of which took place in the Jewish communities of the Five Towns, Far Rockaway and Brooklyn, and “mostly taking place on Friday nights while you and your families slept in your beds.”

The suspect stole thousands of dollars in cash and jewelry from the victim’s homes, some of you, your life savings and many of you and your children haven’t slept a normal night’s sleep since you were selfishly violated in your homes.

In the announcement, Shomrim stated that it is still under investigation but said, “Many of you and your children haven’t slept a normal night’s sleep since you were selfishly violated in your homes. Once again, it is important to us that you feel safe and secure in your homes.”

“We hope this gives some closure to the many families who have been through so much difficulty over the last six months. We hope you and your children sleep better at night, and if there are any recovered items that were stolen from your homes, we can assure you that everything will be returned to you as soon as possible.”

Shomrim said they are working diligently with the NYPD, NCPD and DA’s office, and they will do everything we can to keep this career criminal off our streets for a very long time.

“We thank everyone who worked with us on this investigation over the last six months, especially the detectives of the NYPD’s 101st precinct, NCPD’s 4th precinct, and multiple other precincts throughout New York City. The 101 Precinct Special Operations Lt. Ryan Oshea, the 101 Public Safety team, 101 NCO teams, the NYPD’s Warrant Squad, the Queens District Attorney‘s office, our fellow Shomrim brothers throughout New York, and, of course, the Shomrim wives and families who sit at home while their husbands are out protecting our communities. We would not have been able to get this done without everyone’s involvement, and we thank each and every one of you for the care, attention, and assistance that you gave to this case.

“Thank you to all of you, our community partners, for all of your trust and support. Thank you for working with us on your most difficult days. We made you a promise that we would put an end to this pattern, and we want you to know that we came through with our commitment. We are here for you.

“We wish everyone a wonderful rest of your day and a peaceful Shabbos, knowing that we at the RNSP Shomrim have your backs always!”
