Borough Park, Brooklyn – The free Family Fun Extravaganza, sponsored by Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein and in partnership with the Boro Park Jewish Community Council (BPJCC), has become an annual tradition in the Jewish community of Boro Park, and is eagerly anticipated each year by thousands of local residents, young and old.
This year’s event was especially successful, with over 10,000 attendees on the second day of Chol Hamoed Pesach, Boro Parkers enjoyed a fun day of rides and shows. Emceed by the talented Chaim Perlowitz, child talent star Simcha moved the crowd with a rendition of ‘God Bless America’ in English and Yiddish, entertainment by magician Nussi Friedman of the Nussi Show, and a live concert by singer Yidi Bialostozky.
The crowd enjoyed excellent attractions, fun activities and outstanding entertainment, including a wide range of thrilling rides, a petting zoo, photo booth, face painter, balloon sculpture, a ventriloquist, a monkey show, hockey and much more.
Throughout the day free healthy Kosher for Pesach snacks and drinks were provided free of charge for all to enjoy. Food at the event was sponsored in part by Masbia.
The huge smiles on the children’s faces says it all,” said Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein. “The Family Fun Extravaganza is a highlight of the year for me and so many others who come to enjoy a FREE afternoon of fun and entertainment together with their families. It’s become a Chol Hamoed tradition and I am proud to be sponsoring this wonderful community event.”
“Just watching so many thousands of children jumping for joy and running from ride to ride brought such excitement for us at the BPJCC, and a warm feeling to me personally,” said Rabbi Avi Greenstein, CEO of the BPJCC. “We put in many months of hard work to make this event a success and to see it work out so flawlessly is heartwarming. I am especially pleased to know that so many people saved lots of money because of this event and that we were able to enhance their simchas Yom Tov. We are so grateful to Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein for sponsoring the Extravaganza and bringing joy to so many families.”
This event was coordinated by Yanky Schapiro from Cube Production.
Residents from across the community reached out to Assemblyman Eichenstein to thank him for this outstanding event, which they enjoyed with no out-of-pocket expense.
Brooklyn Community Board 12 assisted with the logistics for the Chol Hamoed Extravaganza, the NYPD 66th Precinct and Boro Park Shomrim were on hand ensuring crowd coordination and everyone’s safety. Boro Park Hatzalah stationed an ambulance with EMT’s and Paramedics by the event in case it would be needed (BH it wasn’t) instead the Hatzalah volunteers gave kids a fun, hands-on experience adding to the day.
