Yerushalayim — One IDF soldier was killed, and two others were injured in a terror attack on the second floor of the Chutzot Karmiel mall in Karmiel, a city in northern Israel, on Wednesday afternoon.
Earlier today, Magen David Adom (MDA) reported that three people had been wounded as a result of a stabbing rampage. MDA said both were transferred to the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya.
Northern District Police Chief Shuki Tahauko said that one of the men wounded in the attack managed to shoot the terrorist and “neutralize” him.
Israel Police confirmed “initial reports regarding a suspected terror attack.”
“A short time ago, we received a report to the police hotline regarding a suspected stabbing attack in Karmiel, during which two men were injured lightly and moderately. The stabber was neutralized at the scene, and police forces from the northern district are at the scene.”
The terrorist has since been identified as an Arab-Israeli from Nahf. His sister, who works in the mall, was later arrested on suspicion of being an accomplice to the attack.
