The NYPD and NYC Mayor Eric Adams held last week a pre-Pesach security briefing, organized by NYPD Deputy Chief Richie Taylor together with Moshe Davis, Fred Kreizman, Menashe Shapiro and Uri Fraenkel of the NYC Mayors Office. In partnership with the Jewish community at One Police Plaza in New York City.
The NYPD Honor Guard presented the colors, followed by Cantor and Jewish singer Nissim Saal, who beautifully sang the National Anthem for the crowd of over 400 people.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, who is Jewish herself and familiar with Pesach and the security needs of the frum Kehila, spoke to the crowd about public safety ahead of Pesach and the relationship between the NYPD and the Frum community, especially after the rise of anti-Semitism after the horrific attacks on Simchas Torah in Israel and the subsequent war in Gaza.
Mayor Eric Adams announced that there will be an enhanced police presence deployed to all the NYC Jewish communities during the duration of Pesach.
The event was attended by Jewish community leaders, Askunim, activists and representatives of many chesed organizations, including Hatzalah, Shmira and Shomrim.
