FrumNews Endorses Jack Ciattarelli for New Jersey Governor
Lakewood, NJ – Republican candidate for New Jersey Governor, Jack Ciattarelli, on Friday visited the Lakewood Jewish Community. Ciattarelli, a frequent visitor to Lakewood and a friend and ally to the Jewish community, whose policies strongly align with the needs of the Frum Kehila, received a hero’s welcome from local residents.
Flanked by supporters, the Gubernatorial candidate visited Pizza Plus and was warmly welcomed by the owner and staff, Ciattarelli was presented with a custom photo cake of him and President Trump, in Pizza Plus, and had the opportunity to serve kosher pizza with loyal supporters.
Afterwards, Ciattarelli visited several small businesses in downtown Lakewood and interacted with customers at Gelbstein’s Bakery and Sesame during the Erev Shabbos shopping.
On a earlier visit to the New Jersey Jewish community, the Gubernatorial candidate said that one of his top priorities if elected, is to “Make New Jersey Business Friendly again.”
Ciattarelli was very impressed by the business growth, but at the same time heard the challenges from local store owners of the bureaucracy and red tape they face from state government agencies. As the candidate was warmly welcomed all over town, many residents expressed deep concerns with the direction New Jersey is heading, under the current Democratic leadership, specifically regarding a lack of support for Yeshivas and school choice, soft-on-crime policies, high taxes and anti-business laws that is being implemented in Trenton.

With early voting concluded, and primary elections usually resulting in very low participation. The official turnout participation results in Lakewood, Teaneck, Passaic, Englewood, Deal, Linden and other cities with a large Jewish community throughout New Jersey, have so far a voter turnout nearly three times the amount of the states average. Simply put, the NJ Jewish community is going to be shaping the election primary results, both on the Republican and Democrat sides.
For the Republican primary (and hopefully entering the general election) FrumNews endorses and recommends our New Jersey readers vote for Jack Ciattarelli.
For those in New Jersey who are registered Democrats, FrumNews won’t make any official endorsements who to vote for. We will point out that former State Senator Steve Sweeney, is a moderate common-sense candidate, who is a friend and ally to the Jewish community. Steve shares many viewpoints along with the Jewish and Frum communities and has helped the NJ Jewish community, specifically Lakewood, when he was the NJ Senate President in allocating millions of dollars in funding to support local yeshivas, many chesed organizations and BMG.
Steve Sweeney, is a solid candidate with a viable chance at winning, he may not promise the world to the Jewish community, but as the leading former state senator and senate president, what he did advocate for, he proudly delivered—with a smile. Steve has a proven and trustworthy track record helping the Jewish community.
Congressman Josh Gottheimer is also a great choice on the Democratic line, for many years he has been assisting and supporting causes near and dear to the Jewish community, with proven results. However during the NJ Gubernatorial Democratic debate recently, Rep. Josh Gottheimer spoke extremely harsh against “private schools” which left many state residents wondering if his vocal support for Yeshivas is only when he campaigns in the Jewish community, but then switches tones the minute he leaves Lakewood.
Even if you vote in the Democratic primary, the FrumNews endorsement for Jack Ciattarelli still stands for the general election (hopefully after winning the primary).
Primary election is Tuesday, June 10, at your local polling site.
