At Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s address to a joint session of Congress, the relatives of Hostages and fallen soldiers will attend the speech next Wednesday, July 24, in Washington, DC.
Reports indicate that relatives of the five living American hostages – Keith Siegel, 65; Sagui Dekel-Chen, 35; Omer Neutra, 22; Edan Alexander, 20; and Hersh Goldberg-Polin, 23 – are expected to attend the address.
Noa Argamani, who was rescued last month, will be the Prime Minister’s guest.
As previously reported by FrumNews.com, Netanyahu is scheduled to speak to a joint session of Congress consisting of the House of Representatives and the Senate at the invitation of GOP leaders House Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
Netanyahu plans to “present the truth” about Israel’s war against the Hamas terror group in Gaza when he addresses the Congress.
The visit comes amid tensions with President Joe Biden, who has supported Israel’s campaign in Gaza but recently criticized its tactics. Biden argued with Netanyahu over entering Rafah and withheld the shipment of some ammunition.
Netanyahu is also expected to meet with President Joe Biden during the visit.
In the June invite signed by both Republican and Democrat congressional leaders (including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries), they said, “Less than three months later, the horrific attacks of October 7th shocked the world and forced your nation into a fight for its very existence. We join the State of Israel in your struggle against terror, especially as Hamas continues to hold American and Israeli citizens captive and its leaders jeopardize regional stability.”
“For this reason, on behalf of the bipartisan leadership of the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate, we would like to invite you to address a Joint Meeting of Congress.” they added.
“I am very moved to have the privilege of representing Israel before both Houses of Congress and to present the truth about our just war against those who seek to destroy us to the representatives of the American people and the entire world,” Netanyahu said in June.
