Hamilton Man Charged Over Murder of R’ Shloimy Lonner z”l of Lakewood

Lakewood, NJ — The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office charged a 39-year-old Mays Landing man who murdered R’ Shloimy Lonner z”l, of Lakewood on Wednesday.

Originally from Monsey, R’ Shloimy was a noted baal chesed and a true ben Torah. He was an outstanding individual, known for his unwavering kindness and dedication to helping others.

R’ Shloimy’s life was tragically cut short when he was stabbed to death on Wednesday by an unstable inmate at a mental health facility that he operated in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The prosecutors stated that Hamilton Township Police swiftly responded to multiple 911 calls in Mays Landing, NJ, reporting a stabbing in progress. 

Shloimy was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, NJ, where R’ Shloimy was niftar shortly thereafter.

Michael Carney, 39, was detained at the scene and eventually charged with murder and weapons offenses. Authorities confirmed reports that the suspect was a resident of the mental health facility.
