Frum Yid Stabbed by Muslim Teen in Zurich Switzerland on Motzei Shabbos

In a disturbing trend on Motzei Shabbos, a Frum man, originally from Monsey, living in Switzerland. Was attacked and stabbed in Zurich’s bustling Jewish community. He is in critical condition as of this morning.

Zurich city police said in a statement that the 15-year-old assailant who was responsible for the attack has been arrested, and the police have launched an investigation. They added they would be increasing security to Shuls, Cheder’s and Yiddishe institutions.

The SIG, the umbrella organization for sixteen Jewish communities in Switzerland, said it was shocked by the attack, “Physical attacks on Yidden in Switzerland are very rare. The Jewish community has been spared from such life-threatening attacks for the past two decades. However, there has been a significant increase in such physical attacks since the war on Simchas Torah in Eretz Yisroel.”

According to the SIG, witnesses impressively describe their experience, They are said to have found the victim already injured on the ground. The perpetrator was held by passers-by. The perpetrator is said to have made various violent anti semitic statements.

This adds to the alarming trend of rising Anti-Semitism.

This is the third terror attack on Yidden outside of Eretz Yisroel in the past week alone, a 62-year-old frum man was attacked while exiting a Shul in Paris and on Thursday, a Frum dentist was murdered at his dentistry in California.

On a local level, another antisemitic event took place last month, where a ski shop near Davos, Switzerland in the Swiss Alps barred Jews from renting equipment from their store.
