Tel Aviv, Israel – U.S. based Delta Airlines announced it would resume service to Israel on April 1. Delta will be flying daily the Airbus A330-900neo between New York and Tel Aviv, adding 2000 seats weekly on the JFK – Ben Gurion direct route.
Like most non-Israeli airlines, Delta canceled all fights as war broke out following the Simchas Torah massacre. Then briefly resumed flying to Israel before halting flights yet again, last summer! Delta will be the first US carrier flying directly between the US and Eretz Yisroel.
Delta Airlines said in a statement, “The decision to resume the route on April 1, 2025, which was temporarily suspended, follows an extensive security risk assessment by the airline. Delta continues to closely monitor the situation in Israel in conjunction with government and private-sector partners.”
Many other international airlines have resumed flights to Israel following the hostage-deal ceasefire announcement.
“We worked hard with the Israeli government and Ben Gurion International Airport to re-establish Delta flights to/from Tel Aviv” a Delta spokesperson said.
In related news, FrumNews reported the Israel Airport Authority (IAA) is warning Israeli soldiers, many of whom have recently been released from reserve duty, traveling through Ben Gurion International Airport not to accidentally forget their ammunition and weapons in their bags or luggage.
