Position Overview
We are hiring a Estimating Manager – Custom Cabinetry & Construction to oversee and optimize our estimating and bidding processes. This leadership role involves managing a team, reviewing plans, strategizing with the sales team, and ensuring competitive, winning bids. If you are an Excel guru with a background in estimating and reading plans, and you’re ready to own the entire pipeline, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of estimators, including a bid assistant and detailer.
  • Communicate with sales teams to fill out pre-bid forms and align with sales strategies.
  • Review architectural drawings and specifications to prepare accurate estimates.
  • Conduct material pricing calculations, incorporating all fees (shipping, taxes, overhead, commissions).
  • Collaborate with vendors for quotes and negotiate pricing.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring profitability.
  • Compile detailed proposals and scope-of-work documents to present bids effectively.
  • Summarize complex data into actionable insights and communicate results clearly.
  • Ensure all data and documentation are organized, accessible, and professionally presented.

Must-Haves

  • Proven experience (4+ years) in construction estimating and reading architectural plans.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and data analytics.
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with sales teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to oversee the full estimating and bidding pipeline.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and deliver professional reports.
  • Strategic mindset for competitive bidding and understanding profit margins.
  • Exceptional organizational and task management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the custom cabinet or related industries.
  • Familiarity with sales strategies and pitching.
