Seeking a Director of Risk Management to develops, initiate, maintain the Risk Management Program and Risk Management Plan of the Health Center. To oversee Risk Management investigation, training, and corrective action if necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities

– Review all incident reports; investigate and analyze the frequency, causes, and trends of general categories and specific types of adverse incidents;

– Coordinate analysis of serious incidents or undesirable patterns or trends;

– Assist with development, implementation and ongoing monitoring of risk reduction strategies;

– Complete risk management assessments at least quarterly and share such assessments with the QA/QI Committee and Board;

– Provide summary reports on Incident Reports and risk management activities to appropriate department managers, the QA/QI Committee and the Board;

– Ensure risk management training is provided to all new staff within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter;

– Assist with the medical staff credentialing process by providing risk and quality information;

– Assist departments in identifying and correcting unsafe conditions and high risk or problem prone processes.

– Refer medical staff incidents to peer review, as appropriate; – Participate in safety rounds;

– Incorporate risk management findings with the QA/QI program and initiatives;

– Submit reports through the New York Patient Occurrence Reporting and Tracing System (“NYPORTS”), in accordance with applicable New York State law;

– Collaborate with the Compliance Department to coordinate the investigation, processing, and defense of claims.

– Other responsibilities as requested by management

Qualifications – Requires licensure as a health care provider or a minimum of one year clinical risk management experience.
