Since Friday, 40 Israeli Hostages Released

On Friday afternoon, 13 Israeli hostages were brought home, as part of the negotiation deal. Eleven foreign workers (10 Thai, and 1 Philipino) were released in a separate deal with their respective countries.

The Israeli hostages released were taken to Schneider and Wolfson hospitals, where the mothers and children were found to be in “good” physical condition, and the elderly “stable.” The released hostages will be monitored in the hospital for at least 48 hours. Some information about how they were kept is beginning to emerge, including that they were only given rice to eat for the last two weeks, and slept on hard plastic benches.

The 13 hostages released on Friday are:

Emilia Aloni, 5, and her mother Danielle, 44.
The family was kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz while visiting relatives on Shabbat Simchat Torah. Danielle was seen in a Hamas propaganda video. Her sister, brother-in-law and their twin three-year-old girls, remain hostage in Gaza.

Doron Katz-Asher and her two daughters Raz, 5, and Aviv, 2.
The family was kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz. They were embraced by their father and husband, Yoni, who is a strong leader in the movement campaigning for the hostages freedom.

Ohad Munder-Zichri, 9, his mother Keren Munder, 54, and his grandmother Ruti, 78.
The family was kidnapped when they came to Kibbutz Nir Oz from Kfar Saba to visit relatives for Shabbat Simchat Torah. You might Remember when Ohad’s family and friends in Israel asked the Red Cross to bring their cards to him on his 9th birthday, which he marked in captivity. Ruti’s husband, Avraham, remains in Gaza.
Ohad’s friends met him in the hospital today, to celebrate his birthday with an ice cream party.

Adina Moshe, 72.
Adina was kidnapped from her home in Nir Oz, after her husband Sa’id was murdered. Adina Moshe was seen in photos from inside Gaza on October 7th, seated on a motorcycle between two terrorists.

Yaffa Adar, 85.
Yaffa was kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz, and was seen in a video, being driven in a golf cart by Hamas terrorists who took her to Gaza.

Margalit Moses, 78.
Margalit was kidnapped from her home in Nir Oz, which was also seen in Hamas video footage.

Chana Katzir, 77.
Chana was kidnapped from Nir Oz by Palesitinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists. Until her release, she did not know that her husband, Rami, was murdered, and her son, Avraham is believed to be held hostage in Gaza. Last week, in a form of psychological terrorism, the PIJ falsely announced that Chana had died in captivity. Chana’s release gives some extra hope, by indicating that there is cooperation between Hamas and the other terror groups who took hostages, and that separate negotiations may not be needed with each group.

Chana Peri, 79.
Chana was kidnapped from Kibbutz Nirim. Her son, Nadav Popplewell, is still being held in Gaza.

The released Thai hostages have not yet been named. The released Pilipino hostage is Gelienor “Jimmy” Leano Pacheco, 33, a father of three. He was a caretaker for Amitai Ben Zvi, and 80-year-old man in Kibbutz Nir Oz. He had been able to call friends and tell them that he was being kidnapped, and “Abba” as he called Amitai, had been killed.

Shabbos

The hostages were set to be release at 4pm on Shabbat. Instead, Hamas held them back and claimed that Israel did not uphold their part of the deal — a false claim. Reports indicate that they wanted their choice of prisoners released first, in the order they choose, which was not agreed on. Other reports indicated that they want “Humanitarian Aid” sent to their terrorists in Northern Gaza, which is under IDF control.

The Red Cross confirmed that the IDF filled all conditions of the agreement. Reports indicate that Qatar was not happy about Hamas’s violation.

By 6:30 p.m. Israel announced an ultimatum: If the hostages aren’t released by midnight, the agreement is over, and bombing will continue.

At 10:40 p.m., Egypt and Qatar each announced that they resolved the crisis, and the 13 Israeli hostages would be released.

Shortly before 11:00 p.m. Hamas handed 13 Israeli and 7 foreign hostages over to the Red Cross. Amongst the Israelis are 8 children and 5 women.

The 13 Israeli hostages released last night are:

Sharon Avigdori, 52, and her daughter Noam, 12 from Kibbutz Be’eri.
Around ten members of their extended family are still being held hostage in Gaza, several members of their family were killed on October 7th.

Emily Hand, 9, who had been at a sleepover at her friend’s house. Earlier her father had been told she was killed, before learning she was in fact held hostage—to him, a worst case scenario.

Alma Or, 13, and sibling Noam Or, 17, from Kibbutz Be’eri.
Their father, Dror Or, and cousin Liam Or, are still being held hostage in Gaza. Their mother, Yonat, was murdered by Hamas on October 7th.

Hila Rotem, 13, was released without her mother Raya Rotem, despite Hamas’s agreement not to separate children from their mothers.

Shiri Weiss, 53, and her daughter Noga, 18, from Kibbutz Be’eri. Shiri’s husband—Noga’s father, is considered missing.

Shoshan Haran, 67, and her daughter, Adi Shoham 38, and children Yahel, 3, and Naveh, 8, from Kibbutz Be’eri, who were taken hostage after their home was set on fire by Hamas terrorists. Several family members remain hostage in Gaza.

Maya Regev, 21, who was kidnapped from the Supernova music festival. Her brother, Itai, 18, is still being held by Hamas.

Sunday

Thirteen more Israeli hostages, nine children and four women, were released from captivity in Gaza on Sunday and are now in Israeli custody.

The freed hostages on the way home are: Abigail Idan, 3 year old. Ella Eliakim, 8 years old. Dafna Eliakim, 15 years old. Hagar Brodetz. 40 year old. Ofri Brodetz, 10 years old. Yuval Brodetz, 8 years old. Oriya Brodetz 4 year old. Chen Goldstein 49 year old. Agam Goldstein, 17 years old. Tal Goldstein, 9 years old. Gal Goldstein, 11 years old. Alma Avraham 84 year old, and Adrian Aviva Siegel, 63.

Also released was a dual Israeli-Russian citizenship on top of the 13 agreed-upon Israeli hostages.
