As our business grows, we are looking for a skilled Controller & Bookkeeper to lead our financial operations. Position Overview:

As the Controller & Bookkeeper, you will oversee the end-to-end financial operations for our company. This role includes hands-on transaction management, financial reporting, and in-depth cost accounting. You’ll serve as a one-person accounting team with guidance from an external accounting firm, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and clarity in our financials. For the right candidate, this role has growth potential as we scale, allowing you to develop and lead a full accounting team in the future.

The Ideal Candidate:

You’re a meticulous and experienced accounting professional, ideally with a background in manufacturing and cost accounting. You excel in a hands-on, process-driven role and are eager to take ownership of all financial functions, from transaction entries to financial statement preparation. You’re comfortable working independently, thrive on implementing efficient accounting practices, and have a solid foundation in core accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Operations & Bookkeeping:
  Manage daily transaction entries, including accounts payable and receivable. Ensure accurate and timely record-keeping in compliance with financial regulations.

• Month-End Close & Financial Reporting:
  Lead month-end closing processes, reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, and ensuring accurate reporting. Present monthly reports to management, providing actionable financial insights.

• Cost Accounting & Inventory Analysis:
  Oversee cost accounting functions related to manufacturing, including inventory tracking, labor, and material costs. Analyze production costs and provide insights on pricing, cost-savings, and financial strategies.

• Systems Implementation & Process Improvement:
  Implement and maintain accounting systems that streamline financial data management, enhance accuracy, and support team collaboration. Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements in financial operations.

• Collaborative Cross-Departmental Support:
  Work with other departments to align financial procedures and provide guidance on budgeting and cost management.

• Full Ownership of Financial Function:
  Take responsibility for all financial activities, ensuring compliance, precision, and timely reporting. Coordinate with external accounting firm for additional support and audits.

Qualifications:

• Experience:
  2+ years in bookkeeping, accounting, or controller-level roles. Experience in manufacturing and/or cost accounting is required.

• Skills:
  Solid understanding of core accounting principles, financial reporting, and month-end close processes. Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software is a plus.

• Self-Motivated:
  Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.

• Analytical & Detail-Oriented:
  Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
