Milwaukee, WI — During the first night of the Republican National Convention (RNC), former President and GOP nominee Donald Trump made his first public appearance since the assassination attempt on Shabbos.
In a dramatic moment with his injured ear covered in a bandage as the crowd chanted “fight!” — echoing Trump’s famous words after the shooting.
Earlier this afternoon, Trump announced that Ohio Sen. JD Vance would be his running mate on Monday, as the party formally chose Trump as its presidential nominee.
Trump did not make any remarks, other then saying “thank you” to crowd, before he settled into a seat next to his VP pick Sen. JD Vance.
At the convention, Trump secured his party’s nomination.
The economy was the focus of the first night of the RNC, but it was Trump’s first public appearance since the attempted assassination at his rally Saturday that stole the show.
