As the 2024 races get underway, Republican Bryan E. Leib has entered the race for Florida’s 25th Congressional District, taking on the former chair of the Democratic National Committee, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, (who voted for the Iran deal, among other anti-Israel bills).

The Broward district includes major Frum communities, including Hollywood, South Ft. Lauderdale, Davie, Cooper City, Weston, Hallandale Beach and Hollywood Lakes.

Floridian Bryan E. Leib serves as the CEO of Henry Public Relations and is a TV commentator for Newsmax TV, I24 News and ILTV.

FrumNews.com caught up with Bryan and asked a few questions dear to the Frum community:

1) Why are you running?

I jumped into this race because we don’t need more baby boomers serving in Congress, we need new blood, new ideas and change agents that represent the next generation of Americans.

Like many Americans, I am deeply troubled by the far left’s attempts to soil the values that our nation was founded upon. They tear down our statues, they burn down police stations, and they terrorize cities when they don’t get what they want. The left is on a warpath against religious freedom, our constitution, common sense and the traditional family unit of a father is a man and a mother is a woman.

I’m jumping into this race to be a strong voice for the common sense and values that thousands of Americans in the FL’s 25th District and millions of Americans support like I do.

I believe that America’s best days are yet to come and that our nation is worth fighting for! I’m a proven fighter and supporter of President Donald J. Trump’s America First Agenda and I have never wavered in supporting the soon-to-be 47th President of the United States of America.

2) What will be your main policy directives in Congress?

On day One, I will work in a bipartisan manner to carry out the will of the American people who desire to see term limits in Congress. Over 75% of Americans support term limits, so why aren’t our representatives in Washington, D.C., carrying out the will of the American people? Serving in Congress shouldn’t be a lifetime and we need more leaders with private sector experience to truly reform our government. Furthermore, I will commit to serving a maximum of 5, 2-year terms in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Throughout my time in Congress, I will work to support President Trump’s America First agenda while focusing on introducing bills and legislation that support our veterans, small businesses, law enforcement and education. I will always be a strong voice and will stand up to anyone who supports the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In addition, I will work to enhance bilateral relations with America’s allies around the world, with a special focus on the enduring alliance between America and Israel. There should be zero daylight between our two countries, but that’s exactly what the current state of affairs is because of President Joe Biden, Senator Chuck Schumer and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi. I currently maintain outstanding relationships with several members of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s Cabinet as well as leading figures in the Israeli Knesset.

3) What House Committees would you be interested in serving on?

1. Foreign Affairs
2. Small Business
3. Veterans Affairs.
4. Homeland Security

4) What is your position on the Israel-Gaza war?

My position is clear – Israel should do whatever is necessary to ensure the safety, well-being and future prosperity of their nation and their people. This is a battle of good vs. evil, democracy vs. barbarism, and a sovereign nation versus a rogue terrorist group.

The choice is clear for all Americans, we must stand with Israel and President Biden and Secretary Blinken must stop with their double-sided diplomacy. One day they support Israel and the next, they are telling Israel how, where and when to fight the war. One day, they send military aid to Israel, and the next, they unfreeze billions of dollars to the very country that was the mastermind of the October 7th attacks, the Islamic Republic of Iran.

When Israel was attacked by Hamas on October 7th, everything changed for our brothers and sisters in Israel and I have personally gone to Israel since October 7th to see the destruction with my own eyes and to stand with the Israeli people. I will always stand with Israel and I believe the vast majority of the American people feel the same way.

5) What is your position on the Orthodox Community and your religious observance?

First of all, let me say that I come from a long line of very proud Jews. My grandparents were co-founders of the Soviet Jewry movement in Philadelphia. My grandfather, Dr, Henry Klein, served as the publicist for the national Soviet Jewry movement for years.

I was raised as an old-school reform Jew, was in Hebrew School twice a week in the evenings, learning Torah and now I consider myself to be a Conservative Jew. Every day when I rise and retire, I say the Shema and praise Hashem for this love and blessings. I have put on Tefillin every single Friday for the last 2 ½ years. I don’t keep kosher and I’m not Shomer Shabbos but I do regularly host or attend Shabbos dinners and I am “Shomer social media Shabbat” and I don’t conduct any business or appear on TV during Shabbos.

Some of my best friends are Orthodox Jews. I have always spoken up to support my Orthodox Jewish brothers and sisters, especially over the last couple of years, as Orthodox Jews were being attacked on what seemed like a daily basis in New York City. Put simply, the Frum community can always count on me to support them 100%.
