Frum Yid Stabbed in Monsey NY on Thursday Night (Updated)

Rockland County, NY – In what is believed to be a home burglary gone wrong, a frum Yingerman was stabbed by a african american perpetrator outside his home Thursday night in New City, NY near Monsey.

Hatzalah of Rockland County transported the victim to Westchester Medical Center in stable but serious condition.

Ramapo Police has taken a potential suspect into custody and launched an investigation.

The name to be Mispallel for Tehillim is Eliezer Ben Galia Elka.

Update Friday, 12:00 pm: The Ramapo Police Department released a statement stating that the suspect was released and “was cooperative and released from custody pending further investigation.” They added that the victim is “currently in stable condition and expected to survive.”

On Thursday, April 11, 2024, at approximately 8:27 pm, the Ramapo Police Department responded to Trailside Place in the Town of Ramapo for the report of an assault with a knife. Upon the officer’s arrival. it was discovered that the victim had been accosted in his driveway by an unknown suspect. The victim was stabbed multiple times and removed from the scene to the hospital. Patrol officers located a possible suspect, and he was detained and brought to the Ramapo Police Department for questioning. The individual was cooperative and released from custody pending further investigation.

The victim is currently in stable condition and expected to survive.

The Ramapo Police Department was assisted on scene by the Rockland County Sheriffs Office. the Clarkstown Police Department.
