According to reports, Saleh al-Arouri, the deputy chairman of Hamas’ political bureau, was killed in an explosion from IDF airstrikes. The explosion was in the neighborhood of Dahieh in southern Beirut on Tuesday evening.
He was a key figure in the Qassam Brigades, the brigade that massacred Yidden and took them 240 Yidden hostage on Simchas Torah. He was a close ally of Ismail Haniyeh, the Hamas leader. He had been in Lebanon acting as a connection between Hamas and Hezbollah.
According to reports, Al-Arouri was killed in a strike on an apartment building by an Israeli drone, with videos from the scene shows nearby vehicles set on fire from the blast.
Spokesman Mark Regev didn’t confirm the attack, but he told MSNBC: “Whoever did it, it must be clear that this was not an attack on the Lebanese state. It was not an attack even on Hezbollah, the terrorist organization. Whoever did this did a surgical strike against the Hamas leadership. Whoever did this has a gripe with Hamas. That is very clear.”
