4 Accidents, 4 Miracles on One Windy Day in Rockland

With high winds in the Tri-State area on Monday, Monsey and Rockland County experienced a number of accidents and downed trees, residents reported multiple downed trees hitting live wires and cars, bringing traffic to a halt.

With high winds in the Tri-State area on Monday, Rockland County experienced a number of accidents and downed trees, residents reported multiple downed trees hitting live wires and cars, bringing traffic to a halt.

The first incident occurred at around 2:30 PM when a tree hit the car of a Monsey frum woman while she was driving on a local road.

B’chasdei Hashem, only the back of the car – which didn’t have any occupiers – collapsed inward. The driver was treated for light injuries and transported to the hospital by Hatzalah of Rockland.

In a second incident, a tree fell on a pickup truck driving in Airmont. The windshield was smashed, Baruch Hashem the frum man was uninjured

In the third incident, the Spring Hills Chief witnessed a vehicle hit an electric pole in Spring Valley, causing it to roll over. After determining that the occupants were injured, he requested two ambulances be sent to the scene. Four volunteer members responded for aid. Both patients were transported to local hospitals for further evaluation.

In a fourth incident, a Rockland resident was in a Taxi when a tree hit the car. The passenger shared the story with Rockland Daily, “We just had a miracle while driving in a taxi, a tree fell on our vehicle. Baruch Hashem, no real damage happened, but when we got to the corner, a tree blocked the road, not letting us pass through. It feels like an absolute obstacle course out there.”
